|THE ABC BOARD HAS TWO NEW MEMBERS - A FORMER STATE REPRESENTATIVE/LAWYER AND A MINNOW FARMER.|
Governor Asa Hutchinson recently replaced ABC Chairwoman Janet Moore with Dan Greenberg. Greenberg frequently filled in when other board members were not available for the monthly meeting.
Greenberg, an attorney by profession, is a former state representative and the president of a conservative think tank, the Advance Arkansas Institute.
Moore was often argumentative and appeared to be racially biased as she often asked the applicants or permit holders what country they were from shortly before ruling against them.
Greenberg might be a good choice as he appears to be concerned about over-reaching government as evidenced in an editorial he penned in the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette back in December 2016 (his dad is Paul Greenberg, a well-known newspaper editorial writer) and in his joining State Representative John Walking is seeking legislation to protect the rights of individuals to take photos or making video recordings in public places.
Maybe Greenberg will help the ABC and stand up to tained ABC Enforcement Direct Boyce Hamlet and urge him to stop violating the law by using underaged individuals in compliance operations.
The other new board member is Jamie Anderson, a minnow farmer from Lonoke. Anderson replaced Chris Palmer, who was appointed to the Workers’ Compensation Commission by the governor in December.
Palmer was just biding time as as ABC Board member until a more prestigious position opened up. The move allows his lawfirm to get involved with matters that will no doubt involve Medical Marijuana before the ABC Board which will be involved in the application and enforcement process.
Alas Palmer's new position with the Workers Compensation Commission will be limited to six months. Look for him to be appointed to another board or commission at that time.
Anderson has a connection to the liquor business in that his uncle John Hawkins, (son of the infamous Marlin Hawkins) when alive owned a liquor store.
Anderson will probably be worthless as a board member as he holds some odd beliefs and appears to not be very bright.
But he does like beer.
