LITTLE ROCK POLICE CHIEF PRAISES PIC PAC LIQUOR FOR COOPERATING WITH HIS DEPARTMENT AT EMERGENCY BOARD MEETING

Tainted ABC Enforcement Director Boyce Hamlet has targeted a Little Rock liquor store, Pic Pac, and has made no secret that he wants to close it down.

We have made a couple of posts about his efforts.

The city of Little Rock once tried to close it down as well.  The City Attorney had his ass handed to him by the Arkansas Supreme Court.

Mayor Mark Stodola had summoned Little Rock Police Chief Kenton Buckner to appear before the  Board of Directors in an unprecedented Sunday afternoon meeting to address skyrocketing violent crime in Little Rock.

Questions were put to Chief Buckner by board members about illegal liquor sales occurring on Barrow Road near the West Central Community Center. LR City Attorney Tom Carpenter made reference to the city's efforts to shut down Pic Pac Liquor store and how that turned out badly for the city.  Then in a surprise move Chief Buckner told board members he "wanted to make sure that Pic Pac was shown in a positive light".

Buckner went on to praise Pic Pac Liquor for cooperating and working with his department to deal with loiters and other problems at the strip center in which their business is located.

Buckner also pointed out that one-third of all the calls LRPD received about Pic Pac actually came from them.

Watch a clip we edited from video of the meeting:

It will be interesting to see how this revelation plays out with the ABC and their harassment of Pic Pac and how that Arkansas Supreme Court decision can impact the ABC when they use their "Good Neighbor" policy in situations that involve loitering.
